Giant Siamese carp (Catloarpio Siamensis)

Giant siamese carp fishing in ThailandName: Giant siamese carp.
(Catloarpio Siamensis).
Status:Native.
The largest Carp species worldwide with a maximum size of  over 150 kg. Known for its hard fighting strength and wary nature. The Giant Siamese Carp is a great catch for anglers fishing in Thailand, but it’s not an easy target. This fish is not common to Northern Thailand and because of the high  price for juvenile fish not many are stocked to the fishing waters. We stocked Dream Lake Fishing Resort, which is the premier destination of Northern Thailand, in 2003 with 50 juvenile carp which have grown very well up to 50kg we as you can see in the photo below. New stock of fish (300kg with an average size of 5-10kg) will be released in late February 2020.
Best time: June until November (avoid the days around full moon)
Best baits: Breadcrumb mixed with rice husk and pellets, occasionally the go for a meaty bait like sausage and chicken heart.
