Name: Small Scale mud carp (Cirrhina microlepis).
Status:Native.
One of a few vegetarian fish species in Thailand. They grow to max. size of 15kg. Another of the many carp species available to anglers fishing in Thailand on holiday or long stayers. Target with normal light carp gear or float rod, will take a variety of popular fishing baits such as corn, nuts, rice flour and bread bait mixes. We catch him regularly at Dreamlake Fishing Resort average size 2-7 kg. Excellent fighter on light tackle.
