Name: Striped Snakehead (Channa Striata)
Status: Native.
Striped snakehead can breed in almost any size of water body. As a result they are certainly one of the most common species of fish anglers may encounter outside of man made lakes and fishing parks. With patience and good casting striped snakehead can be readily taken on top water frogs and popper lures. This species seem to flourish in habitats that do not hold the Giant snakehead as a competitor. The Striped Snakehead (Channa Striata) is an aggressive predator in his habitat to max size 4 kg. We catch him regular between 1-2 kg on guided fishing trips to the Reservoirs around Chiang mai.
